O.M.G....it's working!  I'm still here.  Still alive!  But who will read it?  "Who cares", I suppose should be my answer.  Except it's not.  I care...I care who reads my blabbering, my yammering, my incessant constant stream of words!!!

If not, it's okay, matter of fact, maybe it's better that way!!!  Perhaps it's easier and better that I get reacquainted in the blog world simply by myself.  Just wanting to dip my tow in any way!

Boys will be boys

I'm just toying with this concept here....A friend of mine's adult daughter recently asked me to be her 'friend' on one of the very popular goofy social networks that are out there these days, the ones designed to 'create life' for those of us who think we haven't one, or possibly simply to suck our time away. Anyway, I 'accepted' her into my private, social internet family--no problem. She then began to rant about men!! It sounds like she's been recently hurt, or at least scathed by a break up of some kind, so she indulged in theorizing what was really behind the event. I threw in some thoughts here and there, mostly expressing things like, 'they really are simpletons, they need a women, some good work, food, and sleep and they are happy!!! Not that hard!' But she went on about 'immodest women are the reason that we live in a culture of uncommitted men', blah, blah, blah. Huh???? Are ya kiddin' me????? Honey, your twenty-something is showing here!!! I told her, in an un-scolding like fashion, that she is giving WAY too much power to 'immodest women'. MEN are not uncommitted because of women, MEN ARE UNCOMMITTED BECAUSE OF MEN! Don't blame me for their lack of committment, blame their immaturity, their testosterone, their restlessness (from the testosterone), their over active fantasty world (again, the testosterone thing here) but don't blame women!! OMIGOSH, does she really think that the same boys who turn bananas into guns when mom won't let them play with toy guns are any different when they grow up and ogle women who are dressed in everything between anything and nothing at all!!!! This antiquated thought reminds me of the rule at the private Christian college that goes something like this: 'There shall be no female allowed outside with wet hair' because it 'may tempt a male to think about her in the shower'!!!!!!!!!! And we all know boys would ONLY think about girls in the shower if their hair is a bit damp!!! HELLO!!! Is it REALLY womens fault that there seems to be an heir of uncommitted men in our culture?? How about the fact that some men just don't want to be 'tied down' yet? We've been hearing that line o' crap for centuries! Could it be that young men still have 'wild oats' so sow--again my late forty-something is showing here, but could it also be that she is just viewing ALL men via her glasses that are smudged by her broken heart? I know LOTS of men who seem to be fully committed to their wives, families, and homes. Maybe it's just a timing issue, maybe it's just this, that or the other thing, but whatever it may be, PLEASE DON'T PLACE ALL THE BLAME OF MEN'S ACTIONS DIRECTLY UPON WOMEN'S SHOULDERS!!! Blame men for men's actions. Now get out there and take off that old victorian corset and show some leg!!!!!

I'm simply checking this blog account to see if it's still up and running....seems that it is!  Wow.  Amazing.  Guess that's the power of cyberspace....it's permanent! 

It's been a few YEARS since I've posted.  Can't believe how fast time actually flies.

I will 'publish' this and see if it is, indeed, still working.

McCain---classy till the end!

Well we all know they started calling the election by 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. That was a bit risky, considering what happened in 2000. By 10:00, our new President Elect was announced and not soon after, McCain was up there conceeding. What a classy guy. I mean really, here he was standing there having fought a good hard fight, exhausted, calling everyone to support our new guy. How gracious was he as he attempted to lead once more, lead his party to unity, healing, accepting and moving on. Bravo, McCain. You remain the proud American that you have always been. Well done.

Ok, I drank the Kool-Aid!

Let me attempt to spin this whole thing in a positive direction, and that shouldn't be too hard. First of all, I'm sitting here listening to our new Chief-of-Staff, Rahm Emanuel. He is of Jewish decent. That is a REALLY a good sign. A good sign that Pres. Elect Obama is not only willing to 'reach across', but also he is willing to surround himself with rich diversity that should and will be all inclusive---(code for C'mon southern Rednecks, jump on boad here! Your old ways of thinking are OUT---Thank God!!, so throw away your guns, sell your ridiculously huge energy sucking red trucks and buy a poodle!!!) Obama sends a strong signal that he is Pro-Israel by choosing Emanuel. Good, good and more good.

Also, President Elect Barack Obama appears to be an IMPECCABLE role model to our youth culture in this country. They need that----WE NEED THAT! He is one who can touch hearts and minds of many youths that McCain, you nor me could touch if we lived to be 100! Pulling up the youth in the country is a good thing for ALL of us. They are not only our future, they ARE our sons and daughters. Even as we attempt to shield, steer and direct our kids, THEY STILL HAVE PEERS that they will interact with for much of their lives. They must learn to work and play well with others even if those others are a bit different than they. What a good stretch! So we want those kids, our kids, and our future to have beautuful, strong and solid models of in-tact families, strong fatherhood and grand successes.

Speaking of 'pulling up'....I understand a new quote, as he was addressing the youth, from Prez. O goes like this, "I'm not going to legislate this, but, PULL UP YOUR PANTS!" !!!!!!! a good word already!

This is a historic time in our country and we get to witness that first hand! Can you only imagine if you are a 65 yr old Africian American man that has actually LIVED from Jim Crow to Barack Obama...wow! How must someone like that feel! How should we all feel FOR him----how exciting is that....and we are a part of it all! Again, all good here!

I really do believe that the glass could be seen as half full at this point.....maybe even if it's half full of Kool-aid. Take a sip-might be tasty!

ok, so I guess I'M the old one.....

Alright, I mixed my 'Peters' up...hmmmm, anyway, Frampton did not sing, 'Pin Ball Wizard', that was Peter Townshend. Frampton had that funky guitar thing where he blew into a mouth piece and his words got so distorted he was able to say some really raunchy stuff and get away with it...guess he was ahead of his time. But the point remains----either Peter can't pull off the suit and tie thing, well, guess they can both 'pull them off' but, oh lord, nevermind.... oh gosh, I better just go take a nap!!!!

So I'm checkin' out my internet news and there I find a teenage heart throb of mine!! There's a pic of Peter Frampton!! He is complaining about someone stealing his Obama signs (big whoop!) or some such nonsense. The thing is, this does not look like Frampton AT ALL. I mean he is OLD, man...he's really grey/white headed, kinda balding---no biggy there for me, I like that, (check out dear hubby) but the real kicker is....he is wearing a suit and tie!!! C'mon, a SUIT AND TIE. Now that is not the old rocker from the 70's who was on stage at Tampa Stadium squeeling out, "Pin Ball Wizard" while we were on the ground inhaling!!!! What heck is going on here!!!
